Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is maintaining employment records, ensuring data integrity for payroll processing and the support and maintenance of the Human Resources Management System (HRMS).  This individual serves as the technical point-of-contact for the HRMS.  Responsible for benefits reconciliation, report writing and other HR responsibilities.    

 

Responsibilities

  • Processes and updates employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting or terminating, ensuring proper approval.   Works alongside the payroll professional regarding changes that affect payroll processing.
  • Researches and resolves HRMS problems, unexpected results or process flaws.
  • Serve as key liaison with payroll, ADP, benefit carriers and other stakeholders.
  • Updates and maintains employee benefits changes including medical, dental, vision, FSA, 401K, Life/STD/LTD.
  • Maintains and verifies data related to insurance premiums including medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, STD and FSA.    Performs payroll/benefit-related reconciliations to carrier invoices.   
  • Participate in audits of payroll, benefits and other HR programs and recommends corrective actions.
  • Writes, maintains and supports a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools.  Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs.  Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data. 
  • Completes termination paperwork and assists with exit interviews.
  • Assists with recruitment and the interview process. 
  • Maintains employee files and databases to ensure accuracy and compliance. Performs file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
  • Explains human resources policies, procedures, laws and standards to new and existing employees. 
  • Assists with HR responsibilities in the areas of benefits, recruitment, training, etc. 
  • Develops and documents user procedures, guides and documentation. 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance or business management and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in similar position, payroll entry, benefits and HRMS expertise.
  • Understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules and benefit procedures to ensure correct implementation
  • Understanding of HRMS database design, structure, function and processes.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Excellent math skills
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven detailed analysis and accuracy skills.  Excellent attention to detail.  
  • Able to handle high level of confidentiality regarding employee information.
  • Good time management skills. Must be able to multi-task and be able to meet payroll and other deadlines.
