  • Overview

    The Metrology Systems Integration Engineer will work with external vendors, design engineers, manufacturing engineers and electro-mechanical technicians to manufacture opaque and transparent thin film metrology semiconductor equipment by improving and maintaining area processes to meet critical needs. In addition to supporting manufacturing, this position will provide support by improving process efficiencies, correcting system integration issues, decreasing equipment and software integration time and increasing product throughput Additionally, you will respond to production issues and implement solutions, work to reduce operating expenses, and work to improve manufacturability of metrology products by utilizing data analysis to support and monitor the performance of processes and tools used to manufacture our state of the art designs.


    • Analyze and resolve integration and system problems and bottlenecks, work out suggestions for improvements, and initiate their implementation, often in close cooperation with associated groups as Design, Manufacturing Engineering and Customer Support. 
    • Contribute to the rapid solution of complex faults and take the necessary initiative to identify and implement practical decisions. 
    • Support in-production issues by assisting Production Assembly and Test Engineers and Technicians with concise troubleshooting of Opto-Mechanical modules, LASER modules, electrical modules and Sub-assembly modules
    • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements manage change & implement solutions.
    • Develop production sequence and routings
    • Develop Manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions.
    • Support production issues with concise troubleshooting of optical systems and subsystems.
    • Evaluate and disposition failed parts, with proposed solutions for structural problems. 
    • Review Failure Analysis Reports from suppliers and help validate the root cause of the failure.
    • Support equipment calibration and upkeep, and new equipment specification and procurement for all analytical instruments used in manufacturing.
    • Work in a class 10,000/1,000/100 clean room environment


    Education Required:

    BS/MS in Engineering or Physics (Optical Metrology background preferred) or equivalent experience.

    Experience Required:

    • 1-3 years’ experience in an Engineering environment
    • Working knowledge of diverse optical metrology setups: Interferometers, Shack – Hartmann sensor, polarimetry/ellipsometry & Optical alignment
    • Working knowledge of geometric optics, wave optics, Gaussian propagation, and aberration theory
    • Working knowledge with epoxy application in opto-mechanical designs
    • Working knowledge with optical assy/ alignment/ test equipment/ tools
    • Working Knowledge in lasers, polarization, detectors, electro-optical devices and opto-mechanical constructions
    • Experience in a production environment with high tech products and complex production process
    • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
    • Working knowledge with Optical-Electrical sensors is a plus
    • Experience in the field of technical Production Engineering and quality methodology such as statistical process control is a plus
