    Rudolph Technologies, Inc. is a worldwide leader in the design, development, manufacture and support of process control equipment and data analysis systems and software used by microelectronic device manufacturers worldwide. As the Director of Software Engineering, you will support the software development and integration activities for lithography products.   You will also work with other members of product groups to design, develop and integrate optical systems, motion control systems and communications architectures. You will be a key technical contributor and direct the efforts of a dymanic group of software engineers. As a technical contributor, you will act as a technical lead on a variety of product specific development programs and assess technical merit and tradeoffs between multiple technical disciplines. 

    Responsibilities

    • Develops plans for all phases of the software development cycle including specification, design, development, implementation, and test
    • Develops software architectural plans and release strategies commensurate with system development plans 
    • Ensures software specifications are developed to meet the program objectives
    • Responsible for directing software configuration management and the build and release process
    • Generates systems specifications, functional requirements and working parameters for software control systems
    • Develops and maintains standards for code development
    • Manages resources to meet development objectives and schedules
    • Leads product specific development programs as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (emphasis on electro-mechanical systems and controls)
    • Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred
    • A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in product development
    • Strong problem solving abilities
    • Strong leadership, organization and communications skills
    • Programming language experience with C and C++, real time control programming and Real-Time System Controls. Experience with VX works a plus.
    • Ability to use above software environments and tools to effectively control precision electro-mechanical systems
    • Experienced in all phases of structured software development including requirements analysis, design, code, unit test and integration.
    • Knowledge of Photolithography steppers and / or wafer steppers a plus
    • Knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment product development processes preferred
    • Experience with high precision motion systems, motion control systems, vision systems, distributed I/O and control, embedded computers, networking
    • Available for domestic and international travel
